In real life, we sometimes create our own enemies. In the world of cartoons, there will always be villains againts our heroes. In this issue I created DRAX - a huge fat character, it's the story behind why he became bald. And this is where our hero started his bad affiliation with his villain. From then on DRAX hated him so much and never forgot what he did to his hair. Dito na nag simula ang matinding galit ni Drax kay BJ.
I first thought that a character in order to be loved as a hero should have a nasty villain, but in our case... our hero is the one nasty.

Hanggang gusto na n'yang mawala na sa mundo! But we won't allow him to kill himself... I am the GOD on this script, I decide things around here... not him. Hehehehehe!

BORJOK is my character I created during the early 80's. It means boring joke. Borjok was published as a tabloid comic strip sa MASA Newspaper a sisterpaper of MALAYA during the mid 80's. Ito ay mga kathang isip lng lurking in my head relevant with those time. I am taking this chance in this blog to retell the life I had... with Borjok. Telling it in a way through this character, a promdi boy from his early years and later heading to the big city. And later decided na mag abroad na lng sa Saudi Arabia. Naging silbing diary ko na rin po ang mga gawa kong kartons.

Life was'nt easy for a boy who grew up in the province, and for the first time went to a big city to find his luck. I quit school and headed to Manila, I remember my Dad said... “ How can you make it there? You don't even have a diploma?” I replied, lapis lng at bondpaper ang dala ko, but I will put my name in the newspapers! And I did made it. You will notice that Borjok strips are pantomime, with no words... it's just because I have difficulties with my tagalog at that time. Napaganda pa nga dahil mahirap daw gumawa ng 3 panel jokes with no words.

We all have to admit... masarap manilip! When I first came to Manila, the first thing I noticed were the tabloids that flooded the streets. Actually these tabloid series of Borjok was my own commentary about the tabloids using sex to sell their papers, which until now it's still evident.

The humble beginnings

Let me start with my humble beginnings. It all started in a small town of Sarabia where I grew up later named E.B. Magalona (Named after Francis Magalona grandpa) the 3rd town north of Bacolod City. I was a highschool dropped out then. Seven years sa highschool kay saya sabi nga ni Sharon Cuneta. That was the early 80's, those days we used to take a lot of downers...you name it... and mostly dopes. It was my dreamy years when days are yellow and nights were purples. Nothing is certain lahat naka float.
